Senior Software Engineer

Essential Job Functions

The Senior Software Engineer will have accountability for the following areas:

  • Works with Product Team to ensure user stories that are developer-ready, easy to understand, and testable.
  • Ability to take user stories from the backlog and work without oversight.
  • Collaborates and pairs with other product team members (UX, engineering, and product management) to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions
  • Writes custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases
  • Writes custom code or scripts to do “destructive testing” to ensure adequate resiliency in production
  • Configures commercial off the shelf solutions to align with evolving business needs
  • Creates meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively
  • Actively contribute to the team’s learning sessions by sharing resources and research into new technologies at the team’s weekly info share meeting.

Expected Areas of Competence

  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience.
  • Exposure with test/behavior driven development.
  • Experience working in a CI/CD environment
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, Go or Javascript
  • Experience with DevOPS and AWS servers

Trading Operations Manager (Part-Time or Contractor)

The position is based in our Westfield, NJ headquarters.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert on Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC regulations.
  • Must have a detailed understanding of Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act laws, including requirements relating to suspicious activity investigation and process.
  • Responsible for SAR evaluation and escalation, and ensuring that records for all cases are properly retained (ensure SARs & CTRs are completed and electronically filed with FinCEN on a timely basis). Responsible for all other relevant filings.
  • Perform annual BSA/ AML risk assessments
  • Ability to identify risks and issues and successfully navigate through to completion.
  • Assist with detection of patterns, trends and unusual activity through monitoring suspicious transactions and reviewing various reports. Investigate/refer suspicious transactions to assist in the completion SAR forms when required.
  • Utilize AML system to identify, research, and review suspicious transactions.
  • Assist in preparations for Audits and Examinations Assists by identifying BSA/AML/OFAC compliance risk and assists while ensuring that proper controls, procedures, processes and training are in place to mitigate these risks.
  • Perform trade confirmation, transmission, and settlement, cash and position reconciliation
  • Track positions and reconcile with counterparty statements on a daily and monthly basis
  • Work closely with the trading desk to process, review, and confirm orders
  • Prepare wire instructions for funds transfers as necessary; liaise with bank operations at various counterparties and reconcile all cash and transaction receipts
  • Identify, investigate and resolve trade, cash, and position issues
  • Communicate with and monitor our external vendors (brokers, prime brokers, custodians, accountants, etc.) and internal partners
  • Network with senior personnel internally and externally to resolve issues, gain needed information, and influence outcomes for team
  • Prefer understanding of crypto space and AML concerns relating to this arena

Experience & Skills

  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required with strong Excel skills
  • 1-5 years of experience in portfolio accounting, operations, or middle office environment
  • Experience analyzing activity and building cases for BSA/AML
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Strong understanding of Regulations, including BSA, OFAC, Reg GG
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required with strong Excel skills

Head of Product

Element Capital Group is seeking a Head of Product for the Technological arm of our business. This position reports to CEO and other partners of the Firm.

The ideal candidate will have in depth experience in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, be organized and focused, and possess excellent leadership, management and communication skills. Candidate should be experienced enough to autonomously lead and own the development of the product.

The role requires the ability to lead and deliver on various competing projects; perform well under pressure; and excel in providing reliable and clear communication to the external and internal clients.

Essential Job Functions

The Head of Product will have accountability for the following areas:

  • Lead execution of product strategy and vision; work closely with development teams to execute product development strategy and deliver products to market.
  • Learn product requirements through thorough market (competitive) review and formal requirements elicitation methods.
  • Articulate clear vision for new products and work cross-functionally with executive, engineering and growth teams to, define strategic projects, determine prioritization for them, and develop a product roadmap
  • Identify, evaluate and functionally integrate third party vendors when needed to deliver complete solution.
  • Negotiate product requirements with software architecture and design teams.
  • Work with Product Marketing team to identify and craft appropriate product positioning approach.
  • Attend and participate in industry related events and tradeshows to maintain visibility and market awareness.
  • Support sales and services as needed in regards to your product category including formal presentations to clients and prospects.
  • Spearhead all customer development activities including user testing, feedback collection, and conversion optimization. No one should understand our users better than you.
  • Be able to drive product development as an independent business unit and focused on a cost structure.Lead sales efforts and deliver product to the market
  • Generate clients flow and communication with end users to deliver demanded features and requirements.

Expected Areas of Competence

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience is required in the field of product management.
  • Successful track-record as a head of product, or experienced product leader with potential to step into a role at this scale and with this scope of responsibility.
  • Strong business focus and orientation with history of successfully managing the product development processes and cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with key opinion leaders in the field to identify market requirements and translate them into product features.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of one or more of the following markets: blockchain, adtech, crowdfunding.

UX/UI Designer

We need an experienced, creative, and passionate UI/UX Designer to help us build a robust and efficient user interface for SaaS platfrorm.

You need to be familiar with Sketch and Adobe products.

Not less than 7 years of SaaS interfaces development experience.

We would like to see your portfolio demonstrating solid UX process and a keen eye for visual and interaction design principles (IA, IxD, typography, layout, grid systems, hierarchy, color, composition).
