Trading Operations Manager (Part-Time or Contractor)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert on Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC regulations.
  • Must have a detailed understanding of Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act laws, including requirements relating to suspicious activity investigation and process.
  • Responsible for SAR evaluation and escalation, and ensuring that records for all cases are properly retained (ensure SARs & CTRs are completed and electronically filed with FinCEN on a timely basis). Responsible for all other relevant filings.
  • Perform annual BSA/ AML risk assessments
  • Ability to identify risks and issues and successfully navigate through to completion.
  • Assist with detection of patterns, trends and unusual activity through monitoring suspicious transactions and reviewing various reports. Investigate/refer suspicious transactions to assist in the completion SAR forms when required.
  • Utilize AML system to identify, research, and review suspicious transactions.
  • Assist in preparations for Audits and Examinations Assists by identifying BSA/AML/OFAC compliance risk and assists while ensuring that proper controls, procedures, processes and training are in place to mitigate these risks.
  • Perform trade confirmation, transmission, and settlement, cash and position reconciliation
  • Track positions and reconcile with counterparty statements on a daily and monthly basis
  • Work closely with the trading desk to process, review, and confirm orders
  • Prepare wire instructions for funds transfers as necessary; liaise with bank operations at various counterparties and reconcile all cash and transaction receipts
  • Identify, investigate and resolve trade, cash, and position issues
  • Communicate with and monitor our external vendors (brokers, prime brokers, custodians, accountants, etc.) and internal partners
  • Network with senior personnel internally and externally to resolve issues, gain needed information, and influence outcomes for team
  • Prefer understanding of crypto space and AML concerns relating to this arena

Experience & Skills

  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required with strong Excel skills
  • 1-5 years of experience in portfolio accounting, operations, or middle office environment
  • Experience analyzing activity and building cases for BSA/AML
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Strong understanding of Regulations, including BSA, OFAC, Reg GG
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required with strong Excel skills
  • Detailed-oriented, excellent interpersonal, analytical and judgment skills
  • Undergraduate degree required
